One of Conor McGregor’s teammates has confidently predicted a devastating knockout win for the Notorious when he faces Floyd Mayweather on August 26.
SBG’s James Gallagher recently followed in the footsteps of McGregor by becoming the second Irish MMA fighter to win at Madison Square Garden.
Gallagher scored a first-round victory over Chinzo Machida at Bellator 180, at the same venue where McGregor defeated Eddie Alvarez last year in a UFC lightweight title bout.
McGregor praised ‘The Strabanimal’ on social media following his win over Machida:
Now all eyes will turn to McGregor ahead of his mega-fight against Mayweather in Las Vegas on August 26.
And Gallagher is tipping his friend and teammate to destroy the unbeaten boxing legend, who has yet to taste defeat in 49 fights.
“I think he will knock Floyd out within three rounds. That might seem like a big statement, but that’s what I believe.
“The first round will be cagey with not much happening. Conor will catch Floyd with a clean shot in the second round and then he will catch him again in the third, and that will put Floyd away.
“People have been writing Conor off his whole career. So what’s new? Tell them to be a bit more original.
“Everybody is writing Conor off.
“It will be huge. The biggest sporting event in history. There has never been a sporting event that has generated more money or more interest.
“This will be the biggest of all time. I will be there on the night to watch Conor win. I will be there, front row.”
