Jose Mourinho’s side will revert back to classic shade of red and have buttoned collar
Manchester United will be back playing in their classic shade of red next season – if the latest leak of their new home kit is anything to go by.
It looks like Jose Mourinho’s side will also have a buttoned collar on their home shirt for the first time since David Moyes’ ill-fated season in charge of the club in 2013-14, writes the MEN.
The new kit will also incorporate Adidas’ trademark three stripes on the shoulders rather than the sleeves like in the two previous seasons.
After last year’s effort, which blended two shades of red in a nod to the club’s half-and-half design of the past, United have reverted back to their classic red colour.
Black and white piping has boldly been added to the sleeves too – if the leaked design is accurate.
United are again expected to wear white shorts and black socks with their latest offering, as they have done since 2009.
The leak comes after United took the bold step of first unveiling their new black away kit last month, which uses the same fleck design United wore in 1992 League Cup final.
The new kits will get their first airing on the club’s pre-season tour of the U.S – which kicks off against La Galaxy at the StubHub Center on July 15.
United are now in the third year of their decade-long £750m sponsorship deal with Adidas.
